The New Indian Express conducted a workshop, ‘Newspaper in Education’ at Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School on August 30. K Ramkumar, Assistant General Manager (Sales) addressed students from Classes 11 and 12.
The workshop was mostly interactive with Ramkumar questioning the students on current issues and putting their wits to test. Francis Jeyaraj, Area Sales Manager, spoke on the role played by The New Indian Express in the lives of students.
Ramkumar advised the students on the importance of using a Thesaurus to improve their vocabulary. He urged them to cultivate the habit of reading if they wish to master the English language.
The workshop was coordinated by D Jason Arputharaj, a teacher of the school. He thanked Ramkumar and Jeyaraj for an inspiring session where students were encouraged to think critically.
