The BBMP will issue a notification on segregation of garbage at its source on Saturday, said Commissioner Rajneesh Goel and added that the draft copy is almost ready.
“On Thursday too, we consulted Almitra Patel, member of the Supreme Court Committee on Solid Waste Management. We have taken inputs from NGOs and other experts. We have also consulted senior advocates on legal opinion before finalising the order. These procedures delayed the issuance of notification by two days,” he said.
Goel said they were consulting many experts from different organisations and for their opinions and held meetings with them.
“We will add a few more do’s and don’ts so that citizens will not be confused. The order we will be comprehensive.”
