Lorry owners to protest diesel price hike

Condemning diesel price hike, Federation of Karnataka State Lorry Owners and Agents Association along with All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) has called an all- India goods lorry strike from the Wednesday.

 “Prices of tyres, spare parts of lorries, road tax, toll charges have increased. Adding to this is the diesel fare hike. The price of diesel in Karnataka is Rs 51.24. The price is hiked by Rs 6.13. We urge the union government to rollback the price,” said G R Shanmugappa, president of the federation, in a press release.

AIMTC will be conducting an all India conference in Mumbai on September 18 to work out the modalities for the strike.
