Pedestrian knocked down by speeding cab

A 50-year-old pedestrian was killed when a speeding taxi (Meru Cab) knocked him down at Bellandur Junction near Outer Ring Road in  Madivala traffic police limits on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Palainathan, a native of Hydrabad, who was working as a marble polisher and was residing at Bellandur.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 6.30 pm when he was returning home.

The speeding taxi knocked him down and ran over when he was crossing the road at Outer Ring Road.

He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot, the police said.

The Madiwala Traffic police have registered a case in this connection against the cab driver, who has been arrested.
