Student killed, 2 injured on way to Nandi Hills

An Iraqi youth pursuing B Pharm at a city college was killed after he rammed his motorcycle into his friend’s motorcycle on NH 7 near Fort Junction in Devanahalli on Monday. Two of his friends who were riding pillion on the two motorcycles sustained injuries.

The victim, Mustafa Azim, 19, was a first year B Pharm student at East Point College in Bidarahalli near K R Puram. He was staying at  Kalyananagar.

According to the police, around 4 am, Mustafa and seven of his friends were travelling to Nandi Hills on four motorcycles. All were students of East Point College. Police said as Mustafa was speeding on his Yamaha FZ (KA 05 K 375), he lost control over it while negotiating speed breakers and rammed his bike into one of his friends, Amza Adan’s bike. Chikchik, 20, who was riding pillion on Adan’s bike sustained injuries. She hails from China and allegedly she is Mustafa’s lady love.

The police added, “Since Mustafa was not wearing a helmet when the accident took place, he succumbed to fatal injuries. The person sitting behind Mustafa also sustained minor injuries. Chikchik, who was severely injured, was shifted to a private hospital.”

The Devanahalli airport police registered a case.

Hoax bomb threat in Forum Mall

Tension prevailed among the staff, shoppers and movie buffs at The Forum Mall in Koramanagala on Monday after they received a hoax bomb call.

According to the police, at around 3.45 pm, police emergency control room received an anonymous call. The miscreant informed that a bomb was planted in PVR Cinemas and it would go off  soon. The bomb disposal and sniffer squad, who rushed to the spot, after a thorough search for more than an hour, concluded that it was an hoax call. No explosive substances were found in the mall.

The police said this was not the first time that such hoax calls are reported at the Forum mall. The phone number and miscreant’s details are yet to be ascertained, the police added, who are investigating the case.
