

The second alumni meet of St Antony’s Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Mandavelli, was held recently in the school campus. The meet was presided over by orator Bharathi Baskar and newsreader Shobana Ravi, both alumni of the school, in the presence of the correspondent Rev Sr Maria Rajam and headmistress Rev Sr Dr Nesa Soundaram.
The campus was filled with passed out students who are doing well with their careers. Kamala Rani, president of the Alumni Association welcomed the gathering. Magdalene Olivia, a senior staff member shared memories of the past. Bharathi Baskar in her speech expressed her gratitude to the sisters and teachers who triggered and encouraged the talent in her. She said that her first speech began in school and the competitions she attended and the guidance provided at school made her what she is today. She insisted that every student should make use of the opportunities.
The alumni members assured their support in all the ways possible for the development of their school and expressed their wholehearted gratitude to the management, headmistress and staff. The cultural show presented by the students of the past and present added to the splendour of the evening which turned out to be a joyous homecoming for the Antonites to cheer, cherish and celebrate.
