While Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will visit Art of Living Foundation founder Sri Sri Ravishankar in his ashram and Pejavar mutt pontiff Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji at Vidyapeet, Gujarati community has no events planned for NaMo.

“We do not have any special events or programmes since Modi is visiting the city for a political cause,” president of Gujarati Samaj, Karnataka, Ashok Dhani said.

However, the community is happy and excited about their leader’s visit, Falguni, a member of the Indiranagar Gujarati Samaj, said adding they completely support Modi.

“NaMo is projected as Prime Minister, therefore the community is avoiding any thing that would give a wrong impression to the people of Karnataka about their leader. Hence, we have avoided giving a special platform for Modi during his visit to Bangalore. But the community will be definitely addressed by Modi during his later visits to the state,” Shyamji Patel of the Samaj said. “We wanted to do a lot of things to welcome our leader to the city but due to security reasons and considering the limited time he is here for, unwillingly we are letting go this since the rally is entirely planned by the BJP,” Falguni said.

Praful, a Gujarati businessman, said Modi is a nationalist with organised strategies planned for all states and he definitely has one plan for Karnataka as well.

Public should give him an opportunity to execute them, Praful, who resides in Indiranagar, said. He said  the Gujarat Chief Minister is going to address the crowd on a much bigger canvas, irrespective of any religion or caste.
