Coin shortage forces KMF to revise prices

The price of Nandini toned milk, which was revised on February 9 to Rs13.50 per 500 ml, has been hiked to Rs 14 for 520 ml after many complaints were raised by customers and distributors about shortage of 50 paise coins.

In a statement here on Friday, Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) stated the price change will also include 20 ml of extra milk in the 500 ml pack for the price of 50 paise. This change will also apply to 500 ml ‘Shubham’ which will now cost Rs 17 (520 ml). Also, 500 ml homogenised milk will cost Rs 16 for 520 ml and 200 ml double toned milk will now cost Rs7 for 220 ml.  “The price of one litre packet will however remain the same,” the KMF release said.
