Sandalwood has been quick to adopt Karnataka State Pollution Board’s slogan of Think , Eat, Save. Among the first stars to endorse the message is Sudeep. The actor wants to highlight the need to be less wasteful of food. He says “We should not waste but save food. Environmental awareness starts at home. My request to all is to serve yourself only as much as food you know you will eat.”
For Puneeth Rajkumar, lessons on the environment best came from his father, the late, legendary actor Rajkumar. “My father was very conscious about green initiatives and made sure that people never wasted food. He used to attend lot of programmes themed on environmental causes. He has passed on his thoughts on how to the better environment to me,” he says.
Actor Darshan is sensitive about the plight of animals and the city’s green cover. “I am very concerned about animals and plants, it’s as if they make up the world around me. I visit my stud farm in Mysore as often as I can. Otherwise, I feel very lost. I love watering the plants on the farm and offering water to drink to the animals. I can spend endless amounts of time on the farm. I hope people feel as attached to their surroundings and promote a green environment.”
