With 37 new cases detected on Wednesday, the total number of dengue fever cases in the state has touched 985. The Health Department has also recorded two deaths so far in the state.
Another 224 suspected cases were registered on Wednesday, said Department of Health and Family Welfare director Dr B N Dhanya Kumar.
“With this, the total number of suspected cases since January is 4,106. We collected and examined 2,946 blood samples since the beginning of the year of which 33.4 per cent tested positive,” he said.
The BBMP has employed more teams to get involved in house-to-house larva reduction and source reduction operations. Seven-member teams have begun operations in BTM Layout and will continue in other zones as well,” stated a release.
