Bomb hoax call to school creates panic

Tension prevailed among students and management of Sri Jagadguru Renukacharya (SJR) Kengeri Public School in Kengeri Satellite Town on Friday afternoon, when an unidentified woman made a phone call that an explosive has been planted on the school premises.

The call was made around 12 noon and the school authorities immediately alerted the police.

The police concluded that the call was a hoax and no explosive substance was found on the campus.

“A holiday was declared as a precautionary measure,” the Kengeri police said. “We questioned the public booth owner and with the help of his description, we’re trying to nab the miscreant.”

On July 6, 2012, a similar incident was reported at SJR PU College in Rajajinagar 4th Block, when an unidentified man called on the landline and said a bomb will explode at about 11 am.

The college management informed the police and the bomb squad who looked for over two hours, couldn’t find any explosive device.
