Two more accidents on Metro sites

A day after Namma Metro’s Phase 2 got conditional approval from the Public Investments Board, BMRCL announced two more Metro related accidents, one of which resulted in the death of a worker.

Three months after Express wrote about the problems faced by people in Vijayanagar due to Metro equipment ‘falling from the sky’, a similar incident occurred again on Wednesday, as a vegetable vendor was injured by a falling nut outside the Metro barricades near Dasarahalli market.

A BMRCL statement said the injured was Srinivas Murthy (45) and the incident occurred during segment launching activities by M/s JMC Limited at 3.30 pm.

Three days earlier, Rupesh Singh (39), a workman hailing from Bihar, was injured when he was fixing electric lights at Srirampuram station. He succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.
