Pakistan prisoners moved to high-security cells

After Sanaullah, a Pakistani prisoner, was attacked in the high-security Kot Balwal jail in Jammu by a fellow inmate on Friday morning, authorities at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail have stepped up security provided to two Pakistani prisoners housed in the jail.

According to police sources, Mohammed Ali Hussain and Mohammed Fahad from Karachi, who are facing terror charges, have now been isolated from other inmates and kept in high-security cells.

They are said to be the members of the Al Badr terror outfit and were arrested in Mysore in 2006.

A senior officer of the Prisons Department told Express that the move was taken to ensure that no untoward incidents take place inside the prison.

The official, who refused to divulge more details and specific charges levelled against them said, “No one, except the jail staffers, are allowed to meet them. At this point, we can’t reveal anything more about them or the kind of measures taken by us.”
