Indigo plane wing hits BIA landing lights

Flight operations at the Bangalore International Airport were affected for nearly 90 minutes after a Delhi-Bangalore Indigo flight (6E) had a rough landing and hit the runway edge lights.

BIAL officials told Express that the flight that landed at 8.45 pm, touched down at the edge of the runway due to bad weather and low visibility. Its wings hit the runway edge lights, damaging three of them.

There were 125 passengers and crew onboard  the flight. “The damaged lights were replaced and airport operations resumed by 10.15 pm,” officials said.

The source also said the fire force in BIA limits swung into action and evacuated all the passengers who are safe.

One Jet Airways flight, (9W), was delayed, according to airport authorities. The flight, which was supposed to arrive at 11.20 pm, landed at 12.10 am.
