Rs 50 crore to improve layouts

The Cabinet on Thursday decided to release a grant of Rs 50 crore for the improvement of infrastructure in layouts developed by the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation Limited.

Law Minister T B Jayachandra said the Centre will also release a matching grant. It approved a proposal to extend the the subsidy scheme to buy tourist taxies for the benefit of minorities. He said 2,000 beneficiaries would get Rs 2 lakh as subsidy to buy taxies and the Cabinet approved the release of Rs 40 crore to implement it.
