BPAC Green Internship for Students

BENGALURU: College students interested in contributing towards solving urban environmental issues will have a chance to learn from the best. The Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) on Thursday launched ‘Green Ambassador’, an internship programme for students.

A six-month programme that is being conducted by B.PAC in collaboration with Full Circle and One Bengaluru for Lakes, the internship will include six hours of classroom training coupled with field activity for five months. B.PAC will mentor participants during the field project phase which includes sensitisation modules on civic issues that plague the city as well as brain-storming sessions regarding creative solutions for complex problems.

At the launch, Sister Arpana, Principal of  Mount Carmel College, said the programme is in alignment with the larger ‘Swacch Bharat Mission’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The college has announced two credit points for 60 hours of the programme to encourage greater community engagement. More than 500 students attended the launch on Thursday.

“A curriculum has been designed with focus on interactive sessions,” said Programme Director Ravi Kumar S.
