BANGALORE: KR Puram police arrested a 65-year-old man, who was beaten black and blue by neighbours, when he lured his seven-year-old neighbour with a chocolate and attempted to rape her.
The accused Sardar, an agarbatti sales man, is a resident of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar. The victim’s parents are daily wage labourers.
On Sunday morning, the accused lured the girl, who was playing in front of her home, in to his house with a chocolate.
When she went in, he removed her clothes and attempted to rape her. At this point, the girl began screaming. Hearing her cries, the parents rushed outside and checked their neighbour’s house. This is when the attempt came to light, police officials said.
