A fire broke out in a chemical factory early on Tuesday morning destroying goods worth lakhs. However, no casualties were reported.

Around 6 am, the Fire and Emergency Services received a call intimating them of smoke coming out of a chemical factory in Gowdanpalya near Uttarahalli. However, within a few minutes, before the fire personnel could reach the factory, the fire had spread as there were barrels filled with chemicals stored there. Four fire tenders took over four hours to douse the fire.

The owner of Canara Chemicals Corporation, Jagdish, put the damage at Rs 4.5 lakh and claimed that his enemies had set fire to the factory to destroy him. The Kumaraswamy Layout police have registered a case.
