Mega Lok Adalat Planned

Following the directions of the Supreme Court and National Legal Services Authority, the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority has decided to hold a Mega Lok Adalat across the state on April 12.

Following the directions of the Supreme Court and National Legal Services Authority, the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority has decided to hold a Mega Lok Adalat across the state on April 12.

Justice N K Patil told reporters on Friday that Supreme Court judge Justice H L Dattu will be inaugurating the adalat and Chief Justice of Karnataka D H Waghela will preside over the function.

Justice Patil further said that the Mega Lok Adalat will be held in all the courts in the state, including High Court and benches in Dharwad and Gulbarga.

KSLSA has taken up the initiative for settlement of disputes pending before the BBMP and BDA. “Through this we expect major litigants to come forward for settlement of cases pending in various courts in the state. We have also directed taluk and district legal service centres to organise Lok Adalat in all the courts and take up the settlement of cases pending in the respective courts,” Justice Patil said.

He requested litigants to approach the respective courts for settlement of cases relating to banks, co-operative societies, motor accident claims, cases under sections 138 of negotiable instrument act, water, electricity etc, in the Mega Lok Adalat.
