Two End Lives in Separate Incidents

A 48-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by hanging at his house at Vijinapura in Ramamurthy Nagar on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Vincent, a resident of Kuvempungar,  working in a private publication in the city.

The police said the incident took place when his wife Mercy and daughter had been to her native place to celebrate a festival. His son Richard, who works at a call centre, noticed Vincent’s body on Sunday morning.

The police found no suicide note. However, preliminary investigations revealed that Vincent had huge debts and was unable to repay them.

In another incident, a 21-year-old orphan committed suicide by consuming poison at his aunt’s house at Neharupura near Shivajinagar on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Aravind. He was working as a painter in a furniture shop at Bharathinagar. He was living with his aunt as his parents had died a few years ago.

The police said he consumed cool drinks laced with poison. One of his friends rushed him to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead. He was reportedly complaining of stomach ache.
