3 Pedestrians Killed in Accidents

Three pedestrians were killed in separate accidents in Hebbagodi police station limits on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

In the first accident, Raghu and Ravi Kumar, aged 30 and 25 years respectively, were crossing the road near Yenaagra gate when a National Travels bus hit and ran over them.

They were working as gardeners at Narayana Hrudayalaya and were returning to their room near Kithganhalli when the incident took place. Raghu hailed from Maddur. Ravi Kumar was living at Kithganhalli.

The police have arrested the driver of the bus and have also seized the bus. 

The second incident which took place about an hour later near Jade Empire Hotel, a 53 -year-old Anand Reddy was allegedly run over by a lorry, when he was crossing the NH 7 highway. He too died on the spot. The lorry driver has been arrested, the police said.

Meanwhile, Basavaraj, a 33-year-old man from Bidadi, who had just been discharged from Bowring Hospital, was mowed down by a private bus on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Shivajinagar police, Basavaraj had come to the city four days ago and was admitted in Bowring Hospital. He was discharged on Sunday afternoon, and had gone for lunch to a nearby hotel, with his brother-in-law Santhosh. As they got out of the hotel and started walking, a private bus which was taking a reverse rammed into Basavaraj and killed him on the spot, the police added.
