Man Attacked, Robbed of Rs 2.3 Lakh

Two bike-borne miscreants allegedly attacked a man with lethal weapons and robbed him of his bag containing Rs 2.3 lakh.

BANGALORE: Two bike-borne miscreants allegedly attacked a man with lethal weapons and robbed him of his bag containing Rs 2.3 lakh.

Akhil Gowda, an employee at an LPG agency, was on his way home at 11.30 pm when he was attacked. The incident took place on Armstrong Road in Commercial Street police station limits on Saturday night, police said.

According to the police, Gowda was carrying the money in a bag and crossing Kamaraj Road near Dhobi Ghat. Two men followed him on a bike and forced him to hand over the bag. When he refused and tried to escape, they chased him and snatched the bag after attacking him, the police said.

It is learnt that the miscreants were conversing in Kannada and Hindi. Gowda was rushed to Bowring Hospital for treatment. He later filed a case with the Commercial Street police.
