12 Med Colleges Yet to Surrender Seats to KEA
BANGALORE: Days after the option entry began for aspirants of undergraduate professional courses under CET 2014, 12 medical colleges are yet to surrender seats to the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
This includes four deemed universities. As per information from KEA, 453 medical seats are yet to be made available by the 12 colleges.
According to officials from the Department of Medical Education, most colleges have not surrendered their seats due to renewal of affiliation by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
On the fourth day of option entry, 33,44,599 options were entered. The number of candidates who entered options is 67,204 while 71,847 have registered in all.
Nearly 6K Engg Seats Surrendered
KEA has added to its seat matrix 5,751 engineering seats surrendered by managements of 66 colleges across the state.
This includes 335 seats from Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology, Tumkur, a deemed university.
In addition, 150 seats from Cauvery Institute of Technology, Mandya, and 90 seats from Jain Acharya Institute of Technology, Jamkhandi, have been added to the tally. Candidates can visit www.kea.kar.nic.in to access college-wise, course-wise and category-wise breakup of the seats, a press release said.
