BANGALORE: A special police team left for Chennai on Saturday to look for the Kannada actress who allegedly honeytrapped a 70-year-old doctor earlier this week.

Central Crime Branch officers are also on the trail of Raghu, a gym instructor and native of Mandya, who allegedly masterminded the plot.

The actress allegedly seduced the doctor while her accomplices recorded them in bed.

She then took the help of a constable, among others, to allegedly collect `10 lakh from the doctor. Police, who had said on Friday that she had been arrested, on Saturday said she had escaped to Tamil Nadu with a woman friend, also said to be an accomplice.The actress left the city in a Tamil Nadu bus, and got off at Male Madeshwara Hills. She sent her friend towards Krishagiri. Later, borrowing a phone from a local, she called one of her friends in Bangalore. She then took another bus to Chennai, police claimed.

Hemanth Kumar and Sunil, who work in a private news channel, and Mallesh, a constable attached to the KG Nagar station, are in police custody. They were produced before a court on Saturday.”We are interrogating them,” a senior policeman said.Hemanth Kumar, a friend of Raghu’s, met the doctor after studying his weakness for women. During the interrogation, he reportedly disclosed that the actress had gone to the doctor’s house in a apartment behind Chalukya Hotel. However, the actress told a reporter who managed to get in touch with her that she had gone to the doctor’s house because he had shown interest in producing a film.
