Three Held for Murder

BANGALORE: Malleswaram police on Tuesday said they have solved the murder of a 46-year-old firefighter attached to High Grounds fire station by arresting three men, including two of his friends. Investigations revealed that Janardhan, a resident of Vyalikaval, was killed over a financial dispute.

The arrested are M Ramachandra alias Ramanna (38), a resident of Subramanyapura, Mallesh (34), a native of Channapatna in Ramnagar and Srinivas (40) of J P Nagar.

Police said Janardhan was friends with Ramachandra and Srinivas who ran a real estate business. The duo had allegedly given Janardhan `5 lakh but he did not repay it.

Angered by his friends’ frequent demands for the money, Janardhan had allegedly threatened them of dire consequences. In revenge, they hatched a plot to kill Janardhan and roped in Mallesh, a farmer, to help them. Based on call records, police took Ramachandra into custody and he confessed to the crime during interrogation.
