Reprieve for Shobha in ED Case

Justice Ram Mohan Reddy further directed the Appellate Tribunal to decide on her appeal at the earliest.

BANGALORE: The High Court on Wednesday stayed further proceedings against Udupi-Chikmagalur MP and former minister Shobha Karandlaje by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) till July 10. The ED is probing an alleged money laundering case involving the BJP leader.

Justice Ram Mohan Reddy further directed the Appellate Tribunal to decide on her appeal at the earliest.

She had moved the court challenging the ED notice on attaching `70 lakh from her bank account on the ground that the notice is against the norms of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The ED had accused her of receiving money through illegal means.

The case relates to former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu, who also faces similar charges in the case, and others.
