MS Ramaiah Engineering College Student to Join Indian Navy

A student of the M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) has been selected as a Sub-lieutenant in aviation by the Indian naval service through campus recruitment held recently.

A student of the M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) has been selected as a Sub-lieutenant in aviation by the Indian naval service through campus recruitment held recently.  Vishwabandhu Kumar is the only candidate from the city among the eight selected from across the country. An official communication from the institute said the final semester BE student will report for training at the Indian Naval Academy in Kerala by June 28.

‘Money is Not Everything’

Kumar told Express, “This is a dream come true for me. Though I will not earn much during my training of two years, I accepted the offer considering the learning opportunities.”

According to him, money is not the only thing that matters when it comes to such job offers.

“This is not just a job, it is my future. I am excited about the adventures we are going to have in the navy,” he said. “I would like to thank my parents, friends and college for giving me such a priceless opportunity to serve the nation. I cannot express my happiness,” Kumar added.

Kumar is from Jharkhand and he came to the city to pursue engineering.

MSRIT Training and Placement Officer Savitha Konna M said, “The institute is proud of his achievement. We undertake versatile campus recruitment drives catering to all type of students.”
