Betting Racket Busted, Four Held

CCB police on Friday arrested a gang of four men for allegedly betting over IPL cricket matches and recovered `12.59 lakh and 13 mobile phones.

CCB police on Friday arrested a gang of four men for allegedly betting over IPL cricket matches and recovered `12.59 lakh and 13 mobile phones.

The accused are Prasanna and Padmanabha, residents of Vidyagiri Layout in Chandra Layout, Dilip Kumar of Vittal Nagar in Chamarajpet and Srinivas of Bharathinagar.

Police said, based on a tip-off they raided Prasanna’s house, where he was conducting betting over a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab . The other accused were gambling by contacting Prasanna over phone.

Investigations also revealed that Ajith Kumar alias Khalia, who was arrested recently, is the kingpin of the racket.  ENS
