All Set for Counting Votes in Bangalore City

Police have made fool-proof security arrangements at the three centres in the city where counting of votes will take place on Friday.

Prohibitory orders have been put in place and the sale of liquor, wine, arrack or any other intoxicant in any wholesale and retail outlet has also been banned. City Police Commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar said 10,000 policemen and central security forces will be deployed at the centres and other sensitive areas to maintain law and order. Police will also be deployed at all political party offices and residences of prominent political leaders. Taking out processions and carrying any weapon are strictly prohibited, he said.

Policemen would video-record movement of people around counting centres, he said.
