'Free Stents For 200 Poor Patients'

The Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research will organise an angioplasty workshop from June 2 to 7 in collaboration with Medtronic, USA and Dr Govindaraju Subramani Heart Foundation, USA.

The Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research will organise an angioplasty workshop from June 2 to 7 in collaboration with Medtronic, USA and Dr Govindaraju Subramani Heart Foundation, USA.

The institute is aiming to provide free stents to 200 poor patients in the workshop. Speaking to Express, Jayadeva Institute Director Dr C N Manjunath said: “This workshop is being planned for poor patients and financially constrained senior citizens from across the state. Each stent worth `50,000 to `1 lakh will be given free of cost to all these patients and those who have already undergone Coronary Angiogram and advised Angioplasty can avail this benefit.”

However, needy patients have to produce either their BPL Card or Low Income Certificate at the time of admission. Patients below the poverty line and those with financial constraints can register their names before May 25. For details contact: call 080-22977422 / 22977433.
