BANGALORE: Chief Minister Siddaramiah is likely to launch BBMP’s ‘Namma Bengaluru, Nanna Koduge’ (Our Bangalore, My Contribution), a public-private partnership initiative, on June 13.

Mayor B S Sathyanarayana, along with BBMP Commissioner M Lakshminarayana and councillors, had convened a meeting with the members of Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA) on Thursday.

Speaking to Express, the Mayor said as on date, around 350 corporate companies and private educational institutes have come forward to participate in the initiative. “We have asked for the CM’s date to inaugurate the event. As the monsoon session of the Assembly is expected to conclude on June 13, the event will be launched on that day,” he said.

The mayor said that they have explained about the initiative to ELCIA members and urged them to adopt BBMP’s parks, schools, lakes and other properties under CSR. They also launched a dedicated website for this initiative (www.nammabengalurunannakoduge.com). N S Rama, CEO, ELCIA, told Express that they got to know about the initiative on Thursday. “It is too early to commit ourselves. We are already taking up such initiatives in and around Electronics City,” she said.
