BANGALORE: The discovery of the body of a 35-year-old mini bus driver in Papareddypalya has Jnana Bharathi police on the lookout for suspects who allegedly assaulted and killed him.

The body of Prakash Gowda was discovered by passersby, who called the control room, believing it was an accident. However, when the police rushed to the spot, they discovered the badly beaten body of Gowda with a slit mark on his neck.

Prakash used to work with  Janani Travels and was returning home near Papareddypalya when the incident is believed to have happened. While the police are not sure who may have committed the murder or the reason behind it, they suspect Gowda may have picked up passengers on the way to his home and one of them may have murdered him.

“There were various assault marks on his body, especially his head. The bleeding was from a wound in his neck. We are not sure whether this is what killed him or the injuries to his head. The autopsy report will give us more details,” a senior police official said.

Prakash is survived by his wife and two sons aged ten and seven. Jnana Bharathi police have registered a case of assault and murder and are looking for clues that may lead them to the killer.
