BANGALORE: Although Tuesday morning began with temperatures on the higher side, strong winds brought some relief by early afternoon.

Rain, however, looked unlikely till late evening, when around 8.30 pm, gentle showers began and gradually gained force.

The heavy rain coupled with strong winds uprooted trees in many parts of the city. Waterlogging was reported from many low-lying areas like Kasturi Nagar, Commercial Street, etc.

Three incidents of trees being uprooted on K H Patil Road near Shivananda Circle, West of Chord Road and Kumaraswamy Layout were reported at BBMP control rooms.

The Meteorological Department recorded a rainfall of 15.8 mm in the city. The department has predicted similar showers on Wednesday as well.
