Case Against Councillor

Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) has registered a case of forgery against Azad Nagar councillor Gowramma and her husband Govindaraju

BANGALORE: Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) has registered a case of forgery against Azad Nagar councillor Gowramma and her husband Govindaraju.

At present, the couple is in jail for allegedly killing RTI activist Lingaraju.

Govindaraju and his associate Nataraj are accused for forming plots from a civic amenity (CA) site and selling it. BMTF police arrested Nataraj and produced him before the court, which remanded him in judicial custody.

The office bearers of Group D House Building Cooperative Society had formed a layout at Srigandhada Kaval in Yeshwanthapura Hobli near Ambedkar Medical College in 2001.

The BDA had made bulk allotment to the society to form sites to be distributed to its members. After forming the layout, they allegedly converted a civic amenity site and gave it to one of the members of the society. However, when the construction on the plot began, the treasurer of the layout’s resident welfare association lodged a complaint with the BMTF and alleged that it was a CA site.
