BENGALURU: Vyalikaval police station inspector Shankarachari, who was suspended by City Police Commissioner M N Reddi on charges of dereliction of duty and not registering cases under appropriate sections, has returned to duty just three days after his suspension.
Reddi told reporters on Sunday that the suspension order was revoked on ‘humanitarian grounds’ and the departmental enquiry (DE) will continue. “There is no rule that an officer should be kept under suspension till the DE is completed. Considering his service and age, the suspension order was revoked,” Reddi said.
Shankarachari was suspended for not arresting the accused after an incident at Orange Bar in Vyalikaval, where a fight broke out between the manager and a customer. Ravi, a history sheeter, had threatened bar manager Kiran with a gun for not allowing inside the bar.
