Govt School Boy Wins 2nd Place in State Level Chess Tourney

VELLORE: Rohit Vassan, a Class 10 student of Thirumuruga Kripananda Variyar Government Boys Higher Secondary School, won second place in the State level Chess competition organised by the School Education department in Chennai. According to school headmaster N Natarajan, the boy won the prize in the under-17 category. Students from all districts participated in the event.

At a function held at Santhom Doveton Corrie Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School on Children’s Day, School Education Minister K C Veeramani handed over the cup and the citation to the boy. At a function held here on Monday, District Collector Nanthagopal and Chief Educational Officer V Kumar offered felicitations to the winner.
