2 Held for Sexual Assault on Minor

BENGALURU: Ashok Nagar police on Sunday arrested two businessmen for alleged sexual assault on three minor girls, who were working as maids in their house. 

The accused are Azizullah Khan, 51, and his son-in-law Sadiq Ahmed, 28. They run a second hand car dealership business, the police said.

According to the police, the girls (aged between 14 and 16 years), who hail from Ballari district, had come to the city five years ago and were working as domestic helps in the house of accused.

They were being sexually assaulted from the last four months and upset over this, they escaped from their house. A city-based non-government organisation’s (NGO) activists found them two days ago when they were waiting for a train at the City Railway Station to reach their native place and handed over them to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC).

When questioned, the girls spilled the beans about their employers. The CWC members then approached Ashok Nagar police station and filed a case against the two under Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act, the police said.

The police who swung into action and arrested the accused.
