129 Apply for Solar Rooftop Installations

BENGALURU: City power supply utility BESCOM has received a total of 129 applications for solar rooftop installations, totalling 6.95 MW, with nine applicants who have filed online applications for more than 500 kWs between November 10 and 18.

In a press conference recently, BESCOM MD Pankaj Kumar Pandey said the company was targeting a total of 200 MW by the year 2018.

“People are asking questions and getting their queries resolved before committing to apply. The project is completely voluntary,” Pandey said in response to questions as to the apparent lack of interest from investors.
