Decision on Kiss of Love in Two Days

BENGALURU: City police will take a decision in a day or two on the request for permitting the ‘Kiss of Love’ protest planned by social activist Rachita Taneja in the city against moral policing.

Police Commissioner M N Reddi said here on Monday, “We had requested the organisers of the protest to submit details about their protest, and they have submitted it. Our field officers have been instructed to file a report after assessing the protest plans and other aspects of the issue.”

“We will take a decision on whether to give permission or not in a day or two,” Reddi said.

He sent a strong message against moral policing by stating that nobody had the right to stop the protest except the police. Those who try to take the law into their own hands would be dealt with strongly, he warned. Several Hindu outfits have opposed the protest.
