Nithya Plays the 'Martyr', Says He Trusts the Judiciary

BANGALORE: Self-styled godman Nithyananda, who is awaiting the results of a potency test in a rape case, proclaimed on Thursday that no one would dare arrest or kill him.

In a video of his satsang, Nithyananda told devotees that he has complete faith in the judicial system. “India is not a banana republic,” he said.

He said if someone tries to kill him, there would be a huge sympathy wave in his favour. “For every drop of blood that is shed from my body, a new Nithyananda will stand up. I will be made a martyr,” he said.

Nithyananda had undergone a medical test last week in connection with a rape charge filed against him by a former devotee. The report was submitted by Victoria Hospital to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Monday.
