BENGALURU: Two men were found stabbed to death in separate incidents in the city on Monday night.
Praveen (24), hailing from Mandya, was a resident of Neelasandra. The victim was a labourer working in a private company.
According to the police, Praveen was returning home from Manjunathanagar near Peenya after meeting his friends when miscreants stabbed him repeatedly with a sharp weapon and fled.
Local residents heard Praveen’s screams and found him lying in a pool of blood, and alerted Peenya police. The police are questioning his friends and suspect personal rivalry behind the murder.
In another incident, a 20-year-old daily-wager was allegedly killed by his uncle during a drunken brawl in Mico Layout. The deceased Murthy used to supply drinking water in the area. Police have arrested the accused Soma, a painter.
According to police, Murthy picked a quarrel with his uncle over a trivial issue. In a fit of rage, Soma stabbed Murthy with a kitchen knife and fled. The owner of their rented accommodation found Murthy’s body in a pool of blood and alerted the police.
Preliminary investigation revealed that both used to quarrel often over financial matters. Police suspect this may be the reason for the murder.
