Tandoor Food at Its Best

Tandoor Food at Its Best

QUEEN'S ROAD: Nestled in a narrow lane of Koramangala, Tandoor Hut caters to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians with the wide variety of food they have on their menu. The restaurant that has been running since 14 years serves both Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Make sure you don’t skip starters when you visit the restaurant. I could not stop myself from trying both vegetarian and non-vegetarian tandoor dishes. I opted for paneer tikka (`140) and kandaari kebab (chicken kebab) (`170). Paneer tikka is grilled well which makes it tasty. It is a must-try for people who love vegetarian food. I tasted kandaari kebab for the first time and was not disappointed at all. It was soft and juicy.

Green chutney is served along with tandoor dishes which make it taste much better.

In main course, I opted for butter naan and murg methi hyderabadi (chicken gravy) from Murg-e-bahaar menu (`140-`280). The Indian breads menu range from `25 to `425. The methi added to the gravy with adequate spices gave the dish a different taste altogether. The dish is prepared in North-Indian style. It’s probably one of the most tastiest chicken gravy I’ve ever tasted.

You can also opt for Indian breads like kulchas, parathas and rotis or rice – pulao, biryani, curd rice, steam rice and ghee rice/jeera rice – which range in between `50 to `180. You can also opt for dals and panner gravies to go along with it. Don’t miss panner butter masala gravy. It is got the typical Punjabi style taste.

Vegans, you have got plenty of options here in the veg gravies ranging from `100-130.

Varun Udeshi, a regular customer, says, “Butter naan here tastes good with panner methi chaman. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.”

Prathiksha Naik, another customer says, “I visit this restaurant often to have starters.”

You can choose lassi, coke, lime juice and lime soda along with food. I had some lassi which is made in Punjabi style. I really liked it.

The ambiance is ordinary. The service is pretty fast.

“It’s my love for food that got me into food industry. I love cooking and it’s my passion,” says, Chethan Kumar, owner of the restaurant, adding that he is planning to take restaurants to other cities as well.
