QUEEN’S ROAD:On a chance visit last year, Muthukrishnan R K S had visited the corporate haven that is UB City and was inspired to unearth the paintings he had kept locked in a wooden drawer for nine years.

Twenty of his anthrobiometric paintings, an art form he speacialises in, are currently on display in Sublime Galleria in the same mall, till October 31.

Capturing the spiritual energy of symbols such as Swastik, pentagram and Star of David, the art works also have elements of tantrism.

Most works are priced at Rs 5 lakh or above, and he boasts of an exclusive client list, which he is not at liberty to disclose.

The Chennai-based artist is also the author of The Egyptian Code: The Secret Code Used by Pharaohs that Can Turn Small Businesses into Empires. Excerpts:

What is anthrobiometric art?

The spirit of the (Shri) Chakra resides in each of us. The geometry of the Chakra diagram has concentrated energy which I like to call anthrobiometric art and is the link between god and human beings. I use different spiritual shapes and symbols to convey this.

An ancient unsolvable math puzzle of nine intersecting triangles called Sri Yantra is seen in your diagrams.

It is Gods blessing to be able to grasp this kind of math and is something beyond human understanding. It comes from a tribe I belong to, the Kambalathu Nayakars, a hill tribe from Tamil Nadu.

Tell us about your experience in Egypt.

My fascination with triangles and my urge to solve the Sri Yantra always had me wondering why the pyramid was triangular. I went to Egypt in 1997 to study the structure. Zahi Hawass, the former director of Egyptoglists, could not tell me why the pyramid assumed the shape and my lack of fluency in English was made fun of. But once that its connection with the Sri Yantra was discovered, the Egyptian media was all over it.

Why did you choose some western symbols to put across Indian art and science?

Western symbols have Indian connotations. For instance, the pentagram resembles Om Sarvana Bhava, a star like object carried by Lord Murugan. Also, the Swastik symbol has relevance to Jainism.

How do you use Anthrobiometry to make predictions?

I get certain vibes when I interact with people as I do when I look at the paintings. It’s not very easy to explain. I categorise the predictions as gold, silver, copper and carbon periods. Gold and silver indicate a thriving period, and copper and carbon, bad times.

Where do you plan to display them next?

I want to go to New York.
