BENGALURU:The Special Investigation Team on Thursday submitted a chargesheet against four accused, including Lokayukta Bhaskar Rao’s son Y Ashwin, to the Special Court in connection with the second case of alleged extortion in the anti-corruption agency.
Chief investigating officer Labhu Ram submitted the chargesheet to Judge V G Bopaiah at his residence in Koramangala on account of a string of holidays. Friday was the last date to file it.
The chargesheet, running into 1,572 pages, contains charges against Ashwin, V Bhaskar, Ashok Kumar and suspended Lokayukta PRO Syed Riyaz. The four have been chargesheeted under Sections 8, 9 ,10 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and 120 (b) of IPC (in crime no 58/2015). This is the second chargesheet against Ashwin.
It contains details of the confirmation of flight tickets booked to Hyderabad from Bengaluru on April 2 and return ticket on April 6. It has confirmation from Raceview Travel Agent of those who flew complainant P B Channabasappa from Haveri, namely Shivayogi Hiremath, Ashok Kumar and V Bhaskar, to meet Ashwin.
The CDR, hotel booking receipts, CCTV footage of the hotel and statement of more than 125 witnesses are in it.
