BENGALURU: BBMP Commissioner and District Election Officer G Kumar Nayak has instructed all political parties and candidates to strictly comply with the election code of conduct.
At a meeting on Tuesday, he instructed election officials to take action against any violations and to maintain law and order in the city.
No meetings, chaired by either ministers or MLAs, should be held till the code of conduct is in force, he said. Elected representatives have also been barred from using government vehicles for campaigning. Parties and candidates have also been directed to take prior permission from the police and election officials before holding any meetings.
One Nomination
One nomination was filed on Tuesday by an independent candidate, Kristu Raj. He will be contesting from Ward 84. Two nominations had been filed on Monday.
