Molestation Case Against MLA Reddy

BENGALURU:  Koramangala police filed a case of molestation against MLA Satish Reddy, representing Bommanahalli constituency, on Thursday.

The victim, who is the wife of a well-known doctor, has alleged in her complaint to the police that Satish Reddy molested her during the management committee election held at Reddy Jana Sangha (RJS) in Koramangala on Monday. She said that Reddy and a few RJS members abused her sister too. They also threatened her brother, who had gone to file his nomination for the election, she said.

Her complaint states: “The MLA, along with Raja Reddy, Shekhar Reddy, Ashok and a few members of RJS, snatched the nomination papers before abusing us and outraging our modesty.”

“We have filed a case against the MLA and other accused. We are verifying the CCTV footage installed on the premises and action will be taken against the accused soon,” a police officer said.

RJS director N Shekhar Reddy has filed a counter-complaint against the woman alleging that she and her kin had threatened him with dire consequences after they were asked not to contest the elections. He said the victim’s brother had been suspended from the RJS over financial irregularities.

Attempts to contact Satish Reddy were futile.
