NRAI Representatives Meets Excise Commissioner

NRAI members, led by Ashish Kothare, met Excise Commissioner S R Umashankar to discuss the issue of closure of restaurants in the city.

BENGALURU:  Members of the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) led by Ashish Kothare, on Monday, met Excise Commissioner S R Umashankar to discuss the issue of closure of restaurants in the city.

NRAI representatives discussed about the enforcement of dry days in view of the forthcoming BBMP elections. They have requested the authorities to look into the matter as they believe it is crucial to the hotel  industry.

It was suggested that sale of liquor be banned from the midnight of August 21 to the close of the elections on August 22. The commissioner assured the delegation the orders for the extension of closure timings will be out in the next few days.

NRAI representatives said that they will submit a memorandum in this regard to Home Minister K J George shortly.
