BENGALURU:  Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested a 50-year-old woman notary on charges of forging documents with fake stamp papers and duplicate rubber stamps of government officials. The accused has been identified as Deepa Srinivas, a resident of Prakash Nagar in Rajajinagar.

A senior police officer said that on a tip-off, the police raided a notary office at the RTO Complex close to the Rajajinagar BBMP office. Deepa was caught with fake stamp papers and duplicate seals and rubber stamps of government officials.

During interrogation, she is said to have confessed that she had been selling forged documents for years. She got the duplicate seals from the sub-registrar’s office. People generally approached her for fake property and business documents to get certificates, police said.
