16 Polling Stations to Have Webcams

BENGALURU: This time, 16 polling stations will have 20 webcams, smart tab-based monitoring system at Mahadevapura Assembly constituency, through which senior officials can monitor these polling stations from their office.

State Election Commissioner P N Sreenivasachari told Express that a Bengaluru-based agency approached them to utilise this service. They claimed they have provided the service in Rajasthan. “We could afford the price. Later, they tied up with KEONICS. This acts like a webcam which will record both outside and inside the booths (except where voters cast vote),” he said.

“We chose Mahadevapura as the KEONICS director is the election observer for that constituency,” Srinivasachari added.
