BENGALURU:The City Armed Reserve (CAR) unit withdrew its two orderlies deputed at the chamber of suspended Lokayukta Public Relations Officer and Joint Commissioner Syed Riyaz. This is for the first time that the entire PRO section has been locked.
CAR Joint Commissioner D Roopa told Express that the orderlies, Pramod and Anthony, were withdrawn two days ago as the PRO’s office was sealed by the SIT. The orderlies had been working with Riyaz for years.
After Riyaz was suspended following his arrest, his chamber was sealed. However, Pramod and Anthony continued their service.
Riyaz and Ashwin, son of Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao, allegedly used Pramod and Anthony to summon the public servants to the Lokayukta office allegedly to extort money from them. The mobile phones of the orderlies were also used to summon the officials.
